Service Description

Psychosocial hazards. Risk assessments. Proposed regulations. If that sentence made your shoulders creep toward your ears, you're in the right place. WorkSafeBC has proposed a new Part 4.1 of the OHS Regulation. It would ask B.C. employers to treat psychological health and safety the way they already treat physical safety: spot the hazards assess the risks put controls in place involve workers train people check what's working Accepted psychological injury claims have jumped from about 419 a year before 2015 to 2,613 in 2025. This shift is coming whether we're ready or not. The good news? Ready is very doable. And it doesn't have to be dry. In this hands-on workshop, we swap jargon for real conversations, relatable scenarios, and a few "aha!" moments. You'll learn what psychological health and safety actually means at work. You'll see where psychosocial hazards like unclear roles, heavy workloads, and tricky interactions tend to hide, and what you can do about them. Together, we'll: Decode psychosocial hazards in plain language (no PhD required) Practice the Hazard → Risk → Control approach on real-life workplace scenarios Try out six readiness practices: Identify, Assess, Control, Consult, Educate, Review Take an honest, judgment-free look at where your organization stands You'll leave with: A readiness checklist you'll actually use A clear picture of your strengths and gaps One practical place to start (because "fix everything" isn't a plan) Ideas for getting real buy-in from your team (not eye-rolls) Who it's for: Leaders, managers, HR and people teams, and health and safety committee members. No prior PH&S experience needed. Just bring curiosity and maybe a coffee. Start where you are. Strengthen what matters. Have some fun along the way. The fine print: This workshop reflects B.C.'s proposed requirements, which aren't yet in force and may change. It's general information, not legal advice or a compliance determination.
